India’s Biggest Writing Contest 2024 is a theme based contest. We are looking for 15+ stories that can be adapted into different formats such as short movies, feature films, mini-series, etc. 🎬

What to Submit?

We are looking for a 750 to 1500 word stories (English or Hindi) that prominently feature ‘Sheshnaag’ as a key character, either as the main hero or an important side character. Sheshnaag should play a big part in the story, influencing events in a meaningful way. Also, please note that the submissions that do not include Sheshnaag will be disqualified. This contest is unique as it challenges you as a writer to soar your imagination to bring a mythological character in a modern day setting.

Who is Sheshnaag?

Sheshnaag is a powerful serpent king (King of all Nagas) in Hindu mythology, often shown as a giant snake with many heads. He is known for his wisdom and strength. Sheshnaag is closely connected with Lord Vishnu, who is often seen resting on Sheshnaag’s coils in the cosmic ocean. As the ruler of all Nagas (serpent beings), Sheshnaag is a respected and significant figure in Hindu stories.

🌟 Eligibility Criteria

Open to all writers. Anyone above the age of 18 years is eligible to participate.

Where to Write & Submit

Write your story on VED and submit it through the ‘Share’ button on VED.

Below are the detailed steps:

• Go to VED dashboard.
• Click ‘Create New Project’, select the type of project as ‘Short Story’ or ‘Script’.
• Start writing your story on VED.
• To submit, click on ‘Share’ button on top right corner
• Then click on ‘Contest’ and select ‘India’s Biggest Writing Contest’
• Click on ‘Submit for Contest’ and you are good to go!

Note: Stories written and submitted on VED will only be qualified for the contest.

📝Submission Guidelines

• Stories should be original, previously unpublished works of fiction written on VED.
• Language & Word Limit: Entries must be in English or Hindi and in 750 to 1500 words.
